About this Course

This program will introduce you to the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas and his “First Cause” proof of the existence of God. Aquinas was one of the intellectual giants in this area, and this program will teach you how to understand his famous argument for God’s existence.

Aquinas shows, on the basis of reason, that there must be a First Cause that is the one, immaterial, and personal cause of absolutely everything else that exists, thereby showing that God exists. Despite what some may tell you, in spite of what you might read on some blogs, Aquinas’ argument for God has never been refuted. It’s just as valid today as it was back then.

Course Objectives

Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to teach BEGINNERS how to make a sound philosophical case for the existence of God. In other words, contrary to what atheists say, the claim that God exists is NOT irrational, it is NOT based on blind faith; rather, we can KNOW that God exists through reason and logic.
